Review : Samsung Galaxy Star Cheapest Android |
Its market value or price of no more than US $85, Galaxy Star is the Samsung's cheapest Android phone. Different than many other low-priced smartphones that run 2 or 3 years older versions of the Android OS, Galaxy Star is supercharged by Jelly Bean OS (Android 4.1 OS). Later on spending a substantial time with Galaxy Star, we can answer some doubt. Galaxy Star did what it was expected to answer. It's a good enough Android smartphone for its market price. But unhappily it came short of what we asked it to do. We will reveals that fact in this Review : Samsung Galaxy Star Cheapest Android.
Should we buy Galaxy Star or not? Your answer depends on what you want from your smartphone.
Galaxy Star Hardware
Here we go, while using Galaxy Star is a new feel. It is small with its rounded edges. The body of Galaxy Star is made from plastic but stylist, Samsung has placed a plastic frame with faux metal finish around the screen and with a small ring around the body camera. In this case, we were pleased with the body hardware build quality. It's high class finished materia, which is so much better than what you get from phones that sold by other local OEMs. About the screen, the screen of Galaxy Star is not great but it is acceptable, considering its low price. It is bright and shows enough colours. It also has a comparatively good touch response. The screen size that attached is too small and also resolution too low, but in the case of showing colours, we found it pretty good enough. The greatest strength of this Samsung Galaxy Star is the OS it runs. Jelly Bean, which Samsung has customised with its Samsung Touchwiz UI, that allows user to pick some popular services like Gmail, Google Talk, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.
Samsung Galaxy Star specification make the peoples who love high performance will ingoring this phone from Samsung. With it decent build of hardware and performance, we can say it good enough for the phone who comes to the market with that price (no more than US $85).
Some issues about its slow performance. While Galaxy Star has fairly decent hardware for its price, if you push the phone hard it starts to lag. Apps like Facebook, Gmail and WhatsApp work well. although that the web browsing works well, but if you only push it to mobile version of websites. But a little bit harder tasks make the phone slow. Pinch-to-zoom while browsing full websites is very slow, especially on Chrome browser. The phone can run games like Subway Surfers, but laggy performance, you will get frustrating your efforts to create new records while running away. Multitasking is supported but low amount of RAM means apps running in background are often flushed out of the memory to make space for the active apps.
Galaxy Star Battery Life and Camera
Galaxy Star Battery lasts around 14 hours when used with 2G data connection, yeah it's a good news, enough battery for the data connection offered. It's not good but is above average. Enough camera: The 2 Mega Pixels camera in Galaxy Star is capable of shooting clear images in daylight (yes, we can say it like that). Considering the low resolution, they don't have much in terms of details, but the colours come out well. The images are good enough to be shared on social media sites, especially if you use filters. As expected, in low light and for video shoots the camera fares poorly. Small screen and low resolution: Of these two issues, low resolution is particularly bothersome.

No 3G Data connections
Galaxy Star can only use Wi-Fi and 2G (EDGE) connection. This is a big minus for it Samsung Galaxy Star Phone, because in this day, peoples will love fast speed of internet connection, and when it runs only in 2G, peoples can easily throw away the interest for it phone.
But it if you just wanted a smartphone that just can handle more than calls and messages (no more you need!), Galaxy Star is a better deal. It is a better device for browsing the web, playing games, accessing emails (especially if you use Gmail) and using Facebook. It also offers access to more and vastly better apps as well as contact and calendar management through Google services, which is a real boon.

Final Score:
As we knew earlier, that Galaxy Star gives us what it was promised. It's one of the classy priced Android phones for no more than US $85. But, as we know after that, then it fails to meet user's expectations that we want from a giant manufacturer like Samsung. The low-priced and a low-end Android market needs something that hits new ground and offers different Android experience, even if it's very basic phone, in a device that has at least a 4-inch screen and support for 3G.
Yeah, we can say, only buy Galaxy Star if you are looking for an low priced or affordable Android smartphone device that can help and make you keep in touch with your colleague and friends on Social Media or Email as well as it will able to let you access functions like contacts and calendar from Google. But if you wanted this in purpose or to use it for playing games, watching videos or browsing internet, we suggest you to spend a little more and buy an Android phone that sells for around US $110-$150. Because it will give you some good result of what you intend to.
