UMI X2 / UMI X2 Turbo is getting very hot at the market these days, they have launched these two new Android Smartphone UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo. UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo have some different in specification, first UMI X2 with MT6589, 1GB of RAM, and no USB OTG Supported, next is UMI X2 Turbo with 2GB of RAM and USB OTG Supported also powered with MT6589T. All the rest is the same. This UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo is the newest and hottest China Android Smartphone, and incredibly valuable of 5” display Quad-Core Android Smartphone on market this time with its Low Price bundle. And in some way out have a chance to beat its competitor, as we know, there were iOCEAN, Zopo, and others also have built a new version of 5” Android with MT6589T Quad-Cores. Its smooth design and material built have a good impact in market, I think.

Display

Here we go, let’s take a look at the display of UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo. The Display looks very good with Full HD screen display as their competitors also did. FHD 1080p in 5 inch screen. Some people would say that was a good pixel density, it says 440ppi. It’s display also have a good technology to protect it from scratch, it is Gorilla Glass 2 Protection, so we’ll have no worry about it. The body of it (UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo) were simply smaller than iOCEAN X7 or ZOPO C2.

Hardware

Processor of UMI X2 / UMI X2 Turbo are using wonderful Quad-Core MT6589 and MT6589T in Turbo version, and it was the latest version of MediaTek Processor. They are good in price and performance. UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo also built in 1 GB or 2GB of RAM and 4-32 GB ROM (also compatible for MicroSD up to 32 GB, or maybe 64 GB, since some peoples also says about it). 2GB of RAM is available for UMI X2 Turbo version. Good to see then, this phone already have the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2, which is a great thing to know earlier, as the other China Phone also give that latest jelly bean.

And then, we can see that Its VGA/GPU (UMI X2 /UMI X2 Turbo) are PowerVR SGX 544MP. It was also the good one, and the reason of this smartphone low priced in the market. The performance of this graphical engines are spread to be most wanted because the combination of it pixel density and the power of its GPU. It’s also a good competitor to others brand in their class.

UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo also have a smooth material to cover its hardware, available in white cover or black cover. UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo come in good Design and also smooth one, although the most of its material is plastics (and some peoples also said that plastics used is elastic). UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo will also come in several choice of colors in future, as the gossip spreaded out there, but maybe we will only know a few of it that available on market now. The UMI X2 Turbo is also compatible with USB OTG and a lot of sensor built in it bundles.

UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo have the replaceable battery and come in it’s bundle with 2500mAh. Maybe it was a weakness for 5” Smartphone display, same condition with iOCEAN and ZOPO, but some peoples say that UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo running smoothly and last good enough about energy eficiency. So we can say that UMI X2 / UMI X2 Turbo battery is worth to have.

Camera

UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo completed built with 13MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus and 3MP front camera. It was a big advantage for peoples that love to take pictures, since UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo have a good review for its camera performances out there.

Benchmark

UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo have a nice result with AnTuTu, its hits 11,854 for UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo reach 14,216 !!! So, it’s a very great news to compare with something out there. I know that I already falling in love with this Turbo version of UMI X2 :P

The Price

UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo come with price USD $210-$310 on the market. The price is very low compared to its features. The Price factor of UMI X2 / UMI X2 Turbo is still competitive with other contestants, although the other contestant have cheaper or higher price for its class, like ZOPO, iOCEAN, XIAOMI [MIUI].

Review Score

Review of UMI X2 and UMI X2 Turbo is ended with score 8.0-10 from me. The score is more influenced by its price, features, and design of this Android Smartphone. And why it was lower that iOCEAN X7 Elite, is because there are some problems with some users out there that some peoples experiencing the phone really prone in its display material. But, it is a common problem, and I don’t really to make it so serious.
